I have an Excel spreadsheet created on a windows machine that contains embedded documents.
When I double-click in the cell I get the following message: 'Cannot start the source application for this object'.
The formula bar for this cell reads =EMBED("Wordpad.Document.1","").
How can I open the embedded document with TextEdit.app or any other application on my mac? Is there a way to configure this?
Any feedback is appreciated.

Haven't had but a brief opportunity to try this but it appears to work here... If the embedded file is displayed as an icon Control/Right-Click it then use Edit Document Object. It should open in Word.
Double-clicking it won't work because the WordPad app isn't a Mac program so there's no file association for the OS to use.
