I am running OS X 10.2.4 and Office X including the Office X 10.2.1
update. Last weekend, I tried to add the Data Analysis Add-In from the
Value Pack on my CD. It seemed to install successfully but then Excel
"unexpectedly quit". Every time I tried to relaunch Excel, it would
quit again. Removing the Data Analysis Add-In from the Add-In folder
allowed Excel to start again.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a workaround? Any help
would be appreciated.

I have the same configuration as you do and it works here (if by Data
Analysis Add-in you mean the Analysis Tool-pak (and I also have the Analysis
Tool-Pak VBA).

I'd try reinstalling and/or deleting preferences. Sounds like something is
corrupt. (If the Data Analysis Add-in is different, reply back and I'll try
to find my v.X install disk and try it.)

PS: I do have more Excel crashes than I'd like, but they usually happen
on/just after saving some large file.

After installing anything from the CD you need to reapply the updaters,
so reapply the 10.1.2 updater.

Hi

As has been pointed out, if you install anything from the value pack then
you need to re-run the office update program.

This article doesn't sound exactly like what you said, but just in case:
