Deleted Rules causing Errors

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Yesterday I set up a rule to pick up emails with a certain subject line, and place it in a newly created folder.

It quickly became apparent that all mail coming into my Inbox was being moved to this folder. I checked the rule, and didn't see anything untowards happening. However, as it kept happening I deleted the rule.

This resulted, still, in email being placed into the folder created specifically for the rule. When I went back into the Rules menu option - no rules were active, in fact there were no rules in there at all - but mail continually was being placed here.

I then moved all email in this folder back into the main Inbox, then deleted the folder permanently.

Now I get these error messages even though no rules exist:

"Error
While processing message "XXXX" (ID 36420), the mailing list rule "XXX" could not be successfully executed.

Explanation
The message could not be filed because the destination folder cannot be found. "

Any idea if these rules have been cached somewhere, and if so, how do I reset?

Make sure you delete the rule under the correct tab. Also check your
Mailing List Manager to be sure there are no rules there going to this
folder.

Basics:

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the
order they are listed. (top runs first)

Each type of account has it's own rules. Click on the correct tab to
check your rules. (Mail (POP), Mail (IMAP) Mail (Exchange), News, Outgoing)

(Windows Live Hotmail is now POP)
