Mailbox size - removing attachments - Exchange

I use two scripts (Friendlier Claris it! and Save Attachments 2004) to
strip attachments from emails and save them locally. I am using an
exchange account. I have been getting mailbox size limit exceeded
messages, and thought that could not be, because I was stripping the
attachments, but after more investigation, it seems that the
attachments are still being preserved on the exchange server - because
when I sort my messages by size, the ones with stripped attachments
are still showing their full (with attachment) sizes.

Any idea how to solve this - ie, how to get the attachments removed
from the messages that remain on the exchange server?

When you created the rule to run the remove attachments was it under the
Exchange tab?

Be sure to let Microsoft know you want to see this feature in Entourage
by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism.
