E2004: Repost. Extra spaces added when Outlook users quote me.

I hope the list will indulge this repost.

One of the more irritating aspects of Entourage 2004 is the extra spaces
that get added to my text, when it's quoted back at me by Outlook users!
If I send a message to another Entourage user, they can reply with the full
body of my message quoted and the character-spacing is faithful to the
original. With Outlook users, extra spaces appear in the text and...

...it looks like I can't type properly!

Can anyone else duplicate this behaviour? It's had me using "plain text"
email for the last few years, because it looks so bad.

And it's nothing to do with kerning. There are extra spaces being added.

Anything that causes people to use plain text in e-mail is a Good Thing™
in my book. HTML e-mail is evil.
