Before I installed Yahoo Messenger on my iBook, I accepted some friends using YIM as contacts on my MSN Messenger. Now that I have the Yahoo app installed, I would like to delete those friends from MSN Messenger. However, I cannot.
I keep getting the error message: "The server was unable to remove the user "[YIMusernamehere]" from your contact list. Please try again." over and over and over, yada, yada, yada.
What is the secret to deleting these YIM contacts from MSN Messenger? I have no problems deleting MSN IM contacts, only the YIMs.
For what it's worth, I logged into the Web version of MSN Messenger and the only contacts that showed up there are MSN IM contacts. There were no YIMs. I don't know if that's because the Web messenger isn't designed to show the Yahoo contacts or, as I suspect, there are no actual Yahoo contacts in my server list and the installed MSN app is telling me wrongly.
I have deleted the MSN app a number of times and made sure the files stored in Cache, Application Support, and Preferences have been trashed. If there are any other files scattered about I'd appreciate knowing what they are or where they may be hiding.
I'm really trying to clean up all of my IM services contact lists and thus far, only MSN is giving me grief.
Thanks in advance
