Signing In Impossible to Sign In to Mac Messenger

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
My messenger for mac 7.0.2 has never worked since I downloaded and installed it from the Mactopia site. I have now installed and reinstalled it several times and still get the same error message "service is not available." I tried deleting the three library files, (as suggested by Messenger Help) and reconstructing my preferences but that had no effect except to change the appearance of Messenger. I am using a personal account with my network preferences automatically configured. I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8 - Any suggestions people especially you brainy ones at MSN?

I find it extremely disappointing that, after more than half a year, makatak's question still has no reply - especially from the Microsoft guys.
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM - MESSENGER FOR MAC WON'T LET ME IN in one computer - and it is a letdown to find no solution.
You would think Microsoft cares more for their customers.
I challenge Microsoft to please shut me up by giving us customers better service - beginning by answering this makatak's question.
