Video/webcam for Messenger for Mac

Can anyone help me?
Is it possible to use a webcam with MSN messenger for mac? If not, can
anyone tell me if there are plans to make this happen, and how long are
we talking about for this to be a reality?
Isn't it really annoying how Messenger for Mac is so far behind the
rest?!

I haven't heard anything about whether it will be included in the next
version. Hopefully Microsoft reads the feedback they read in here and will
act on it for the next version.

Yes, it is annoying that Microsoft Messenger lacks some features that are
available in other applications. There are some features that are unique to
Messenger, but I don't use them.

Some where between 1 year and É [infinity]. At the rate Microsoft develop
software the Universe is likely to have died from heat death
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_death] before they get round to it.
As it was not added in Messenger 5 (despite it being the TOP request) the
next likely [hmmm, perhaps that's the wrong word] milestone is version 6.

The only program that I am aware that supports webcam with the MSN protocol
is the Mercury Messenger (www.mercury.to).

I believe that this is a really shame. I find it hard to believe that a
company that achieved so many good things, that hire the best scientists and
engineerings, and do not mind to offer a produtct like messenger 5.0! Well,
(please someone correct me if I'm wrong), I believe that the middleware that
it is used for building windows products is very different from the one that
is used for Mac OS X... so there is a delay there... In any case, it would
be nice that more accurate (technical) explanations should be given about
this subject from the MS itself... I cannot see any reason for not doing
this... (sorry if I'm being naif).
I dream that if people have more information about this, things could run
more smothly...
