I just installed Messenger 7 on a new iMac running Leopard 10.5.2 and I can not set a display picture either. Messenger 7 has rejected any files I tried to set as my display picture (the windows version accepted them with no problems). It won't even let me choose one of the built-in pictures that come with Messenger!

Can you please try the following:
Move/delete the "Microsoft Messenger Data" folder from the MUD - that's
where we cache user tile information. Please let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Yes, I'm having the same problem, of course...however I dont know how to access the MICROSOFT MESSENGER DATA folder or MUD, etc. Could we please be provided more specific info regarding this...also, if anyone HAS tried this, has it fixed the problem?

Hi, please try the following:
1. Go to your ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data folder and inside there is the
Microsoft Messenger Data folder. When Messenger IS NOT launched move this
folder to the desktop. Then launch Messenger, sign-in and try to change your
display picture.

If the above doesn't work, please try the following:
Launch Messenger, but don't sign-in
Choose the option to "Sign in with a different account . . ."
Click Clear Account History . . .
Click Clear History
Now click Sign-in and enter your credentials again

Please see if either of the above works and let us know the results.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. I just got a new MacBook thinking
that the problem was just with my old Mac's user account, but my
download of Messenger Mac 7 on THIS new mac is having the same issue
that s3ntry described. Is there a fix anywhere?!
