Error Code 0x800706B5、0x800706BA、 0x800706BB、 0x800706E、 0x800706BF
と提示されているコードの最後にもう一文字ついたエラーコードの情報がありますが、

0x800706B5 -2147023179 RPC_S_Unknown_IF Eventlog service is not running.
BITS tries to initialize the event logger object during initialization and
fails to start, if the initialization fails. If event log service is not
running, then the initialization fails with RPC_S_UNKNOWN_IF error

とりあえず、 Windows の Services で停止しているものの確認をしてください。
Event Viewer の Error Log の調査も実行してください。

更新履歴を表示したところ KB901190 と　KB944338　がインストール失敗となっていました。
エラーコードは0x8007F06Bです。
OSはWindowsXP Home Edition SP3
セキュリティソフトはソースネクストのウイルスセキュリティZEROです。

Windows Update の Logging を有効にして、
その状態で Windows Update を実行して、
その結果出力される log に記録されている Error の記述を調査してみてください。

2. Delete the contents of the Download folder:
