I have tried all day to P2V a Windows 2000 SP4 server that has ISA 2000
installed (although ISA services are stopped).
It always fails at the same point (49%) with this error:
Error (2912)
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the
NZNMT-VMM2008.nz.ad.westfield.com server.
(Element not found (0x80070490))
Recommended Action
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WS-Management service
is installed and running, then restart the agent.
When the P2V fails the Windows Event Viewer shows:
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer x.x.x.x using any of the
configured protocols.
I changed the NIC to ensure I could have drivers that would supposedly work
with Vista and put them in the Folder on the VMM server.
Could this be caused by not having Vista Drivers for the NIC on the Source
Server? The drivers are supposed to work with Vista, but are originally for
XP.(I doubt that should be an issue).
I run :
winrm get winrm/config/service
on the VMM Server and it says Access Denied, unless I run it as the Local
Admin account on the server.
If this is the issue, how am I supposed to get this to run using a normal
account that is a member of the local admin group?
Any ideas what may be causing the failure of the job?
Thanks
