I recently moved a virtual server to a larger storage space due to automatic
growth of the VS. Since then, I no longer have serial COM communication with
a serial device. There are only 2 Virtual servers on this host box, and if I
disable com on both virtual machines, the vssrvc.exe process still has a
handle to \Device\Serial0. Since this process has the handle in use, I
cannot add the com port to my virtual server, unless I choose the "wait for
modem command to open port option". Need suggestions. Cannot reboot the
host server without a scheduled outage. Have tried everything. I do have
the option of closing the handle, but am presented with warning error that
this could lead to application crash. This also would be a problem,
considering the virtual machines that are running. Suggestions?
