How do I move a .vhd

When I set it up, I created a 500GB virtual disk, but I created it (and it
allowed me to do so) on a 40GB drive. That drive is now full and I'm running
into obvious problems. When I look at the settings it warns me that because
I have a snapshot, I can't edit the path of the .vhd. I thought snapshots
were good things. What do I do? The primary shared drives of the company
are on this .vhd.
