Going from Office 2000 to Office 2003

We have a Windows 2003 Enterprise server running terminal services and on top
of that we have Office 2000 starndard. I was told to uninstall the Office
2000 Standard first then install Office 2003 standard.

Currently we have group policy objects for office( excel,word,powerpoint)
and outlook 2000.
Will these be removed by the install or will I have to run some type of tool
to install a new 2003 template? or will it be automatic?
Do I have to remove the old 2000 template? If how?
Any help will be welcomed. Thak you.
