Skype Locks Up ISA 2004

When anyone starts Skype on our internal network, the ISA Server 2004 locks
up and starts to block all kinds of traffic, including simple DNS lookups
that cross across the firewall segments.
There are many posts online about Skype causing similar denial of service
problems for ISA 2006 and Forefront TMG.
Does anyone have information on how Skype is having this unintended side
effect of bringing down the firewall?
Note, about five minutes after Skype is stopped, the firewall returns to
normal service.
