We have an application that uses a Cache database for it's back-end. We have
some programmers that need to make odbc connections to the servers for
reports that need to be written. On a fresh install of XP with the Cache
ODBC drivers when we click Configure on a connection the window pops up
instantly. As soon as we install the ISA client we begin having a problem
where the window does pop up, however it takes anywhere between 15 - 20
seconds. Disabling the firewall doesn't change anything, and neither does
stopping the service. But as soon as you uninstall the ISA client the speed
goes back to being near instant.
I've tried monitoring the processes but I don't see anything different
between before I launch odbcad32, while I'm hitting the configure button and
after the window actually pops up (except for odbcad32 running of course). I
know the dll that is called, cacheodbc.dll, but adding it to the exceptions
in ISA didn't make any difference. Neither did adding odbcad32.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.d
