1 Protocol Definition for PC Anywhere as UDP, port 5632, send receive
and
1 Protocol Definition for PC Anywhere as TCP, port 5631, outbound
And it should work. Note this is for PC Anywhere 9.2, I've no idea about
other versions
The sequence of PCA events is:
PCA Client sends UDP packet to port 5632 (status port, checking to see what
the server is doing)
PCA Host replys with UDP packet with the status
If the status is OK, PCA Client opens a TCP connection to 5631 on the PCA
Host and everything works :-)
Packet sniffers rock!

Symantec has used those same ports since version 7.x (I think). Older
versions used different ports...
Notice that you can make those ports TCP only, but to get pcAnywhere to work,
there's a registry key you have to add called "TCPIPConnectIfUnknown" and set
to 0x1 (it's a reg_dword, in HKLM\software\symantec\...\pcanywhere\system)
You can also change the ports used, if you like. Must be changed on both
client and host.
Can you post more details? or send them to me.
Thanks,
Paul

I am also trying to get a PC Anywhere client to work with a PC Anywhere Host
on the external side of ISA. I have set up the protocol definitions
according to the message below but it didn't work. Could you elaborate more
on the protocol definition for UDP? The TCP one is pretty straight forward
to set up.
Thanks,
Raymond
