recording wizard in Win 7

I am sure this has come up before, but please bear with me. I want to disable the CD recording wizard so that I can just use the damned drive like any other without Microsoft's "help." Essentially, I want do not want my files "waiting to be written." I did it before on a different machine, but do not remember how I did it. I am using Windows 7 pro.

I would appreciate any help here.
