I am in England and need help from someone out there.
I am using Outlook Express 6 with Windows XP Professional.
Everything has been fine until the last few days when
several of the e-mails I have received (mainly from USA
and Canada)are peppered with:-
"&" ">" "<"
One I received was a "Reply To" and when it came back to
me with the reply, these things even appeared in my
original outgoing message at the beginning of each line!
Has anyone any idea what is happening, what is causing
this weird occurence and is there anyway I can stop it
from this end?
If you can advise or help, please reply as simply as
possible as I am a simple person with little
understanding of computer technology. I'll use the old
cliche - I can drive a car but have no idea what goes on
under the bonnet/hood!
Many thanks to anyone who can help

Those are HTML encoding for the characters & > and <. Those are special characters in HTML and
cannot be left as is.

So apparently this is some mismatch between you and the recipient's system. Could be the way
the do the reply or some limitation of their mail server or possibly they are using a different
character set.

Trying to track down the specific cause and fixing it is probably more bother than it is worth.
