hi chandra,

if you care to add your 2 cents to the ongoing case i have with ms support
please send your info to mani, include the

"CST52763734ID - MSN PSS Support Redirect FW: Broken / Other" on the subject
line

(see message details below). perhaps if they
can get one centralized person looking at the same problem from a variety of
people, systems, op.systems, itll help them.

you should include the required info on your win version and hardware as per
mani's request.

<<
mani,

the pid for my win2k is 51873-oem-0002955-68275

i have 512meg of ram

an amd athlon 1.3 mhz

rodney james sturtz, jr cphone is 727 798 4231.

altho the win2k is an oem version my supplier has no idea of what the
problem is, nor how to fix it. they are a small wholesaler and have little
in the way of tech support. however, the same problem occurs on my home
machine and that is a beta copy of winxp.

also, as i noted, there are several people posting about this same problem
in the ms newsgroups. i suppose they have a variety of hardware & operating
systems.

thanks.

jim

Hello Jim,

Thank you for using Microsoft Web Support.

I understand that you are having difficulties with Outlook Express. I
sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced in
this regard. I greatly appreciate the information you have provided thus
far. However, though you may have provided some of this information
already, I still need some more information to check for your support
entitlement options and then create a case. Hence, please assist me in
further processing your support request by providing the following
information in an e-mail message to Msup...@microsoft.com:

* Product Identification Number (PID) of your Windows 2000
* Memory (RAM)
* CPU type and speed
* All Contact Information (Full name and telephone number)

Please note that the support for Outlook Express is tied to the
Operating System. Hence, I need the Product Identification Number (PID)
of your Windows Operating System at the earliest.

Hence, please assist me in processing your request by providing the
Product Identification Number for your Windows 2000. In order to locate
this number:

1. Click Start, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the System icon to open System Properties.
3. Click the General tab to find the 20-digit number under the
"Registered to" line.

Once we have this number, we will be able to provide you with the
support options available for your copy of Windows 2000.
