Will downloading a newer version of IE delete my bookmarked sites causing me
to have to re-enter all those URLs?

Should'nt be a problem.
But you could just back up your favorites anyway.
These are located in the following (for Win2000)...
"C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Favorites".
Can't remember where they're stored for win98/Me, sry, but it would be
something similar.

Just copy the directory to a diskette or CD or something then you dont need
to worry about them getting lost/deleted etc. and you can restore them when
needed.
