Where are the errors stored

New Win 2K Server, new site installed in IIS, I get this error:
Server Error in '/' Application.
Server Error in '/' Application.
I can't get the CustomError setting in web.config to work - I changed
it to "off" but IIS still doesn't display the error in the user's
browser.
Where is the error stored on the server? How do I call it up?
Grr.....
