Problems with FTP-server and non-us characters in filename

Hi!

We're experiencing problems with filenames that contain non-us characters,
such as å, ä and ö in their names - the ftp-server simply removes the
characters from the requested filename and then reports that the file can't
be found. We've tried with multiple ftp-clients, and they all have problems
with Microsoft's ftp-server, but work fine with other ftp-servers. Any
suggestions?
