indexing service has stopped working

All of a sudden I got a message saying my index was corrupt, so I stopped the
service, deleted the catalog, and restarted the service. Now I am getting
event ID 4127 with the following description: Content index on
d:\index\files\catalog.wci could not be initialized. Error 3221225477. I
have tried checking permissions on the folder where the catalog is located,
moving it to a different location, and removing indexing service and
reiinstalling it. I still have the same problem. Any suggestions?
