IIS 5 and slow SSL

Hello-

I have an e-commerce site with a secure checkout
process. When a browser (especially my client who's on a
Mac with IE5) tries to purchase a product, they get a
tremendous slow-down when the site goes secure. 10 - 15
second page load times drop to 1 to 2 minute page load
times. This is also in an isolated environment, so the
server isn't under any sort of load, just a single user.
Does anyone know how I might be able to speed things up?
