I/m having a problem with our IIS Server. When i try to publish our Exchange
OWA on the public IP address of our Small Business Server the following
error appears in the Event Viewer:
""Cannot register the URL prefix 'http://xx.xxxx.xxx.xxx:80/' for site '1'.
The IP address for the site is not in the HTTP.sys IP listen list. The site
has been deactivated. The data field contains the error number. ""
It works perfectly fine if just published on the internal IP address. I have
disables socket pooling and i've added the external interface using HttpCfg.
I've ran out of ideas. Can you help?
regards,
Jason.
1st - As long as you can publish using the internal IP, what is the prob?
2nd - This sounds like it is probably due to a very common DNS
mis-configuration within your network. If you are not the network admin,
seek help from him/her. If you are the admin, you might want to post this
in the microsoft.public.windows.server.dns newsgroup.
Last... If my assumption above is true, you would be able to publish to the
external IP from a machine on the Internet outside of your LAN. Have you
checked that?
