I'm using Windows 2000 Server SP1, SQL Server 7.0 SP2, IIS 5.0.
I have created a System DSN pointing to my SQL server, and I have tested it
using odbcping.exe.
When I try to connect using ASP, I get an error:
Error Type:
(0x800401F9)
Error in the DLL
/development/test.asp, line 12
Line 12 is my "rsDataset.Open" line.
In a related problem, when I'm using SQL Server Enterprise Manager, try to
open a table (to view the data), I get a message box saying:
Unknown Error in Query Designer: 800401F9
However, my SQL server is actually working, since I can view data using
SELECT statements from the Query Analyser.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Alexis M

Not sure what you can do in that case, maybe apply Windows 2000 SP1?

Then reinstalled SQL7.0. The same error still showed up in the Query
Designer.
"Unknown Error in Query Designer: 800401F9".
So I figured I mightr as well try SP1. I reinstalled IIS, then applied SP1.
Still nothing. I cant connect using ADO, and the query designer still wont
show any records. Strangely enough my SQL server seems to work when I use
the Query Analyzer.
I also get a message "Error in the DLL" (with no more info) when I try to
import/export data from the SQL server (which leads me to agree with Chris
in that something is screwy with MDAC).
Other than reinstalling Windows 2000, is there any other way I can force an
upgrade/reinstall of MDAC?
Thanks again
