My WinXPPro IIS (with ASP.NET) no longer allows me to log into the
localhost.
I have ensured that the IUSR, IWAM and ASPNET accounts have permission to
the web server as well as file directory, and I have even tried forcing
basic authentication and logging in as Administrator.
I've done everything I can think of including re-installing .NET v1.0. I do
have Visual Studio.NET installed, and I'm hoping that it isn't part of the
problem.
Thanks in advance for help from anyone,
Jame

It's the weirdest thing ... I covered some of the most common issues and
even went "overboard" adding the IIS-related users (IUSR, IWAM, ASPNET) to
the Admins group to to check.

ok. now..test this.
1) ensure anonymous access in IIS
2) create a simple hello world html, work ?
3) create a simple response.write "hello" .asp work ?
make sure you are running 'low' in application protection.
manually reset iusr password, in local sam and IIS MMC.
post the iis log for those requests.
