I don't see an option anywhere in IIS to restrict traffic to the web server
based on IP address or IP range. I think I saw it only for the FTP server...
is this option not available for web sites also? I'm using IIS 5 on windows
2000.

thanks in advance. any info is appreciated.

Hi,

Can you right click on your web site (e.g. Default Web Site) and select
Properties (you can also do this on any subfolders). Click on Directory
Security tab. Here you can edit IP address and domain name restrictions
(click in Edit... button; second button from the top).

Sorry, I left out an important piece of info... the section you mention
below is disabled... you know, it looks 'dimmed' and you cannot select the
options or hit the edit button. Why is that?

Do you by any chance have this IIS installed on Windows 2000 Professional?

IP Restrictions are only available on Windows 2000 Server installation.

It is dimmed, by design if you are using W2K Professional.
