I am getting this error when attempting to attach to an
NT 4.0 FTP server from a W2K server. I know the virtual
directory works because I can FTP successfully from my
workstation.

I have added the IP address to the FTP site
security...any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mona

what do you mean by 'attach to an' ?

so you try to connect to a NT4.0 Ftp server
from a W2k server ?

make sure the client machine IP which trying
to access the ftp site is listed in the IP
restriction list.

Bernard,

What i mean is, I was attempting to FTP from the cmd line
on a server but the connection was refused even though I
had added the IP address to the restriction list. After
diggin around, I discovered that sometimes you have to
restart the IIS and FTP services in order for the
metabase to recognize the allowed IP address.

Problem solved but thanks for your response!

Not only 'sometime you have to restart'
but for such configuration, you need to
restart ftp service for it to take effect.
