404 error and parsing code

I set my default error page too 404.asp, when you go to
http://www.fergitech.com/404.asp the code parses. When you go to the error
page
http://www.fergitech.com/whatever, the code doesn't parse. I am running
win2k
server sp1.
PS - I have also tried using php with the same result. The server doesn't
parse the code.
