Just done a clean install of Win2k Server. Setup IIS etc with our intranet
asp pages. Fine. All works great. Then loaded the security roll ups
including the latest Q311401.
Now, none of the .asp pages, including the default microsoft ones wont run.
Just get a "Page cannot be displayed error". And yes, all the folders are
set as virtual directories with everything enabled to see if that works.

Just installed IIS on my own PC - as it does not have the latest security
patch - Q311401 - and .asp pages work ok.

Tried a roll back - no joy, the same thing.

Any ideas?

And, app debuging is enabled.
I have tried deleting and recreatings the folder - same thing. Also,
re-installed IS - still the same.

Its:-

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer

We use a mix match of IE6 and IE5.5.

We never had this error until we installed the latest secuirty patches.

That's still not enough. Please turn off friendly errors in IE, as per the
link previously offered.

Well, nobody can help you fix a 500 error... you need to figure out what is
causing that. The only way you can do that is to make sure that friendly
errors are turned off, that IIS is set to send detailed text messages to the
client, and that you are reading the entire page that shows the error.
