Problem with Mouse in MS Internet Explorer

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been having a problem of my mouse not
responding, or responding erratically while in Internet Explorer. I can
select the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl/Alt/Del) and the problem will go away.
Sometimes it stays stable for quite a while and other times I have to
Ctrl/Alt/Del several times before it stabilizes.

I run Ad-Aware and Spybot regularly. I have Norton System Works and run the
virus scan weekly and all messages are examined while in Outlook Express. I
have been using the PC's for about 20 years and have never had a virus, so I
must be doing something right, but I can't find this problem at all.

Has anyone else had this problem or have you heard of someone having it? I
would appreciate any help you can offer,
