Explorer 4.5 crashes when downloading images

Every time I try to download a JPEG or GIF file from a web site Explorer 4.5
crashes with the error message "Sorry, a system error occured. Internet
Explorer 4.5 illegal instruction".

Most of the "file helper" preference settings for images are missing, I
don't know what happened to them. I reset up the "file helper" preferences
for JPEG files manualy but I still get the same error as above. I also
reinstalled Explorer 4.5 which didn't help either.

I have not had this problem on any other computers running Explorer 4.5.
Maybe there is an extention conflict?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
