Hi -

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Outlook Express
6.0 (6.0000.2600.0000) is truncating the download of any messages (with
attachments) that are over 36 - 40 Kb in size. The attachements are then of
course garbled, and cannot be opened. This occurs whether the message is an
email, or a newsgroup posting...

I started to notice the behaviour after I did a "compact all" on my folders.
Shortly thereafter messages started being truncated. The progress meter in
the lower portion of the window indicates how much of the message it has
downloaded - it crawls along for the first second, and then jumps to the
end! Skipping the rest of the message download. Is there some setting that
I somehow tripped that causes OE to truncate messages?

This is really, really irritating, my co-workers can't send me large
attachements (100Kb) without them being truncated.

Sorry -

not a problem with OE - it appears it's my ISP's news server. I've tried a
different news reader against their server, and the same thing happens... I
am getting the entire message though, and manually processing it with
UUDECODE, but something about their news server is garbling the contents of
the UUCODED data...

When I use OE against another news server, it appears to work fine.
