Listen you idiots, I'm fed up with this shit of you merging with AOL and
thinking that it's in the best interest of 'everyone'. I've had a Netscape
account for many years and have always professed Netscape to everyone.
Believe me, my opinion had moved alot of people away from Microsoft's IE and
now you do this? You can go to hell. I will now recommend stongly to
everyone I know to stay away from AOL, Netscape, ICQ, and any other
buisiness interests that have been bought out by AOL. Consider this a chain
letter that will reach millions, because I will make sure of that. I will
not change my netscape account name to something else that even remotely
resembles my AIM account name. That's for games, my Netscape account is a
real and important account. I keep it when things are important and I can
count on it being there. Now you're telling me that my account will be
given to some other person that just happens to have my last name as his/her
AIM toy screen name. Well, who's going to tell all the services that I have
registered with that my email address has changed? When I get some
important information (like my password) sent to 'my primary' email address,
they're all going to go to someone else now. I can't change that. So I'm
screwed and you can get away with it, right? Well, think again. I'll sue
you big time if even one of my passwords gets to this other
mcki...@aol.com because it was sent to mcki...@netscape.net. I consider
my information private and you should too. If AOL wants to buy all these
other companies and take over the entire world, they should have to put up
with some hassles that go along with that kind of takeover. The world
doesn't stop because AOL thinks that they can buy their way into the top
spot. Get a clue. The IT community enmasse HATES aol and all the crap they
pull and they will never grow beyond the idiot masses once the general
population learns that there is real freedom available to the internet
users. Once you learn that people really want ease of use WITH an open
system, your market share will start to increase because it deserves it as
opposed to just because you flood every aspect of the market with free disks
offering free crap. I'm not alone in saying that I personally have stacks
of AOL disks just waiting to be melted down when the world starts to run out
of plastic because of all the waste that you cause.
Please cancel everything I have with ANY business that you offer
immediately!
Screw you,
and... have a NICE day! Todd
To everyone else on the CC: line, I appologize for taking your time but if
you forward this to
1 person, you're pathetic
10 people you'll have good luck for a day...
100 people you'll have good luck for a week...
1000 people you'll have good luck for a month...
10,000 people you'll stop AOL from force feeding their crap down our
throats!

Subject: Important Notice from Netscape- Action Required
> 2nd. NOTICE
> IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM NETSCAPE - Action Required
>
> Dear Netcenter Member,
>
> Starting earlier this year, Netscape Netcenter
> began moving from User Names to a streamlined
> universal Screen Name service. The new Screen
> Name service lets you create a single, consistent
> Screen Name as your personal "ID" - which you
> can use to conveniently access and personalize
> sites and online services. You will be able to
> easily take advantage of Netscape services by
> using the same Screen Name and password for
> each service.
>
> Based on our records, your user name at Netscape:
> mckissick
>
> has been identified as a duplicate between
> Netscape Netcenter and AOL Instant Messenger
> (AIM) registration systems. Beginning September 29,
> when logging onto Netscape service such as Site
> Central, WebMail, MyNetscape, or Calendar, you
> may be prompted to resolve the conflicting User
> Name with the following options.
>
> Option 1: If mckissick is also your
> current Instant Messenger Screen Name, you can
> verify ownership of both accounts by entering your
> Instant Messenger Password on the new Screen
> Name Services message screen. Once your Instant
> Messenger password is verified you will access
> Netscape services as usual.
>
> Option 2: If mckissick is not your
> current Instant Messenger Screen Name, you will be
> asked to choose a new Screen Name. If you need
> help in choosing a new Screen Name, we can
> suggest choices. Your password will remain
> unchanged.
>
> While we understand the inconvenience of this
> verification process, we believe the benefits
> of having the same identity (and password) will
> simplify your experience long term and that this
> process will help us protect the privacy of your
> information. In addition, this integration will
> also allow us to provide future enhancements to
> many Netscape services.
>
> We've provided a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
> page to address the questions you might have. If
> you have trouble accessing or completing the process,
> we will have customer support representatives on
> hand throughout the process to assist you. To

HERE'S A LITTLE MORE INFO TO GET JUSTICE!
Check out this URL! (http://www.deja.com/getdoc.xp?AN=676913285.1) from
Arbitrator. It seems Netscape
has already had thousands of complaints from this name change process.
Especially with the way it was
implemented. This all took place several months ago for a half a
million Netscape users. All Netscape (A0L)
learned from that was to give no decent prior to warning to the next
bunch of users before screwing up their
e-mail. Sounds like a big
company who really doesn't give two bits! Either that or they just
needed a browser of their own to play with
and would like to get a big tax write-off for the rest of Netscape so
they'd like to see it go downhill by ticking off
every webmail user to quit 'em. The page from the above URL has links
to a site dedicated to pushing for an
inquiry from the CA states attorney general's office. Also some other
insights on this issue you may not be
aware of. I'm glad I'm not one of the unlucky ones who actually used
this "guaranteed permanent" e-mail
address for a business!!
