We created a form of risk SWAP which can become a significant VC source and
a prime alternative to IMF and World Bank financing, among other things
(including the funding of vast scale humanitarian cause and charitable
efforts).
The Arbitrage occurs when the cost of generating a set of securities, an
event that occur as a consequence of the operation, is less that the net
present value of the internal cash flows of the securities, which is the
expected value of the securities. The securities are slightly discounted to
enhance their immediate attractiveness and/or very short term forfaiting
possibilities.
The SWAP occurs when investors, instead of directly investing in the project
or humanitarian cause, buy the securities, which carry the substantially
lower risk of an in-house managed set of underlying portfolios of investment
grade securities or other conservative operations, thus in fact funding the
project or humanitarian cause without incurring in the risk of the project
or humanitarian cause.
Participants share, after negotiation, the arbitrage profit with a project
or humanitarian cause.
We configured the process under an Arbitrage Hedge Fund structure. We are in
the process of setting up the fund and will invite others to joint venture
in the enterprise.
