Historically when I've created a text box for a .mic file, a properties box
appeared from which I can specify a font, color, etc.

Now when I click properties, I only see width, height, x, y, color mode,
etc.

This used to work fine, but recently several things went wrong such as a
black composition area which I've since fixed using feedback from this
forum.

I don't know what caused some settings to change accidently, but now I need
to figure out how to get the text box properties back so I can specify font
and size,etc.

Any ideas?

You are probably talking about the "Text palette", as far as I remember you
could not use object properties to change font etc.

You can get the palette by clicking on the A button on the toolbar, or
pressing F2. You should also get it when double-clicking the text in order
to edit it. You can uncheck "Auto hide palettes between uses" in View |
Toolbars menu if it always gets hidden when you don't want to.
