I just hit the "print screen" button on my keyboard and then open IC and hit
ctrl+V to paste. You can edit and save as .jpg from there.

Darn it! 8-) That works, Victoria! Somebody told me about the combination
Alt/shift/printScrn and I've always done that-- I'm talking *years* I've
been doing it the hard way! I feel like such a dork!
I learn something every day on this newsgroup. When I started monitoring
it--- has it been a year?-- I used to mark just about every other message,
"watched," so I could go back and check up on things I wanted to remember. I
had the whole newsgroup lit up red for a while.

And by the way, from someone that's always reading such things, all this
information and more is available in your Windows help file (Start->Help).

Something cool to check out that very few people know is the key
combinations using your Windows flag key (one of the extra meta keys that
Microsoft put in). You can open "Find Files or Folders" or Windows Explorer
or go into your system properties and a number of other things. Check it
out.

In all actuality, here is how it works:

Alt-PrintScreen copies that currently active window to the clipboard.

Plan PrintScreen copies the entire computer screen.

Alt-Shift-PrintScreen is just a redudant Alt-PrintScreen. Why press more
meta keys than you need to?

I think in early versions of Windows you had to do something quirky.
In DOS hitting printscreen actually sent the screen to your printer.
