Although I've been using MIC for several years (as a novice), suddenly last
week the composition area color went black. When I right click and go to
Composition Setup, the color picker only has black as my choice.

It's as though something went haywire and now I can't figure out where to go
and change it back to grey.

I have the MIC for Dummies book by Brian Johnson and when I try what he
suggests, the color picker still only has black as a choice.

Any suggestions would be apprecaited.

The only reason I can come up for the true color to be black is that you
have set zero gamma.

Try Tools | Options | Gamma | and Use Default or 1.0, whatever you prefer.

Jan,

YOU'RE THE BEST!

Thanks for your response. THAT WAS IT. The Gamma was set to zero!

Somehow periodically this occurs and I never mess with these settings. Any
ideas how this is occuring?

I was about to just reinstall MIC but your suggestion fixed my problem!

I've been reading several MIC books and no where was this mentioned.

Thanks

Dave

Not sure, any chance you are running Vista or newer Windows? The settings
are being stored in registry so you could try to run the IC at least once
with administrator privileges to allow it to save the settings...
