כל פעם שאני מנסה לפתוח Word doc בעברית עני מקבל את ה error message הבא:

Microsoft Visual C ++Runtime Library

Buffer overrun detected!

Program: ...Files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\WINWORD>EXE

A buffer overrun has been detected which as corrupted the program's internal
state
The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated

האם יש למשהו דרך לתקן את המצב הנ"ל?

I guess that this happens after installing SP3 or KB928366 but I can't assure
this.

Word dies after a few seconds of editing a document, and so Outlook when
using Word for editing.

Google told me the solution but only in Hebrew, I guess that it's not only a
Hebrew issue as I've found some references in other languages.

So here it goes: Just delete or rename custom.dic in C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\proof folder.

This file holds the additions to the default dictionary, so say goodbye to
them. It's a low price to pay to keep using word and Outlook.

hi, hitman,

I essentially did what you suggested. When I never got an anser (until now,
and it has been a long time), I thought back to what had happened just before
the problem occurred., as per as per Jean Andrews, Advanced PC
Troubleshooting, if you're familiar.

I remembered that I had tried to add something to the Custom Dictionary twice.
So I did a search for Custom Dictionary, was able to open and Edit it. Boy
was it full of junk.

So, I still have that function in Word and Outlook. Apparently this happens
a lot to everyone. The Microsoft files are full of incidents in other
languages, and the guy at the Indian call center was going to give me a fix,
but his supervisor wouldn't let him.

Hi
This Is Not Enough you must also so this together with cutom dic solution

This is a very annoying error because Word 2003 always terminates and
there's no possible way to edit the documents.
After some trial and error, I found out that when
you have
Spelling and Grammar disabled in a TextFrame with some lines of text, this
error doesn't occur anymore.
Under menu: Tools -> Language -> Set Language -> Do not check spelling or
grammar.

I just had the same problem and your tip saved my life!! Thanks. But!! there
is no need to delete the whole dictionary. You can first open the dictionary
in the filepath you have indicated, copy all entries, save all entries in
another program (for example Excel which isn't effected by the problem). You
can later manually re-paste all entries into the dictionary in Word. Good
luck.

so ok , there an extra think you can do . if you have 2 users on the same pc
, just copy the file from Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Proof \custome.dic to the same location on the user the makes
the problem. you can also make a new user ( temporary) only to create the
good file and copy it to the location.

is is an absolut cure
