Hi everyone, hope I'm in the good newsgroups,

our search system seems to be corrupted. When users click the search button
the following message appears:

"The content index is corrupt."

The solution seems obvious but I don't know why it happened and how to
restore the index file. (part of our staff is on vacation :( ).

Anyone have a solution, a URL or a FAQ that I can read about?

Thanks

Hi again,

I solved the problem by restarting the index server.
But I still don't know why the index content has been corrupted.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who answered me personally.

Bye!

Andy

Yep, that is what I do too. The corruption only happened to me when I didn't
shut it down normal, say a power outage. My guess is that IIS has that
index open for write the whole time and it might become corrupted when
something unexpected happens.
