Index Server 1.0 Causes Authentication Dialog Box To Appear

Hi Gang

We use NT4 Server and IIS 3 to host our internal intranet. The other
day I thought that I'd try to install the Index Server 1.0. So I went
ahead and did it. Unfortunately once the Index Server had installed I
was getting phone calls from my users saying that when they browsed to
the Intranet hompage they were asked for a userid and password. So I
tried it and sure enough there was the authentication dialog box staring
at me. I couldn't figure out why the Index Server would cause this.
I've since deinstalled the Index Server but haven't come up with an
answer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it would do this and
how I could make it stop?
