DCOM and VSS problem

My system is a SBS2003 and have been upgraded to R2 and SP2 is installed.ISA
2004 is installed and SQL2005 not yet.

1. System error

a.The network card connect to a ADSL have a DHCP error and it cannot get the
IP address ,but I can connect to the internet.

b.a DCOM error happeded with event ID10016

The application -specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation
permission for the COM server application with
CLSID{BA126AD1-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E} to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK
SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20). This security permission can be modified using the
Component Services administrative tool.

From the CLSID{BA126AD1-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E} I found the default
value is "Network Connetion Manager Class" but I cannot find this is the
component service list. What should I do?

a.
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with
CLSID{3ab41ba8-06ce04a6f-94b2-bc8cde61b807} and name SW_PROV cannot be
started. (0x80070005)

b.
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Error creating the Shadow Copy Porvider
COM class with CLSID{3ab41ba8-06ce04a6f-94b2-bc8cde61b807} (0x80070005)

c.
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: A critical componetn required by the
Volume Shadow Copy Service is not registered. This might happened if an error
occurred during Windows setup or during installation of a Shadow Copy
Provider. The error returned from CoCreateInstance on class with CLSID
{665ee1dba-8ff4-4a58-ac1c-3470ee2f376a} and Name SW_PROV is (0x80004002)

d.
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Error creating the Shadow Copy Provider
COM class with CLSID {665ee1dba-8ff4-4a58-ac1c-3470ee2f376a} (0x80004002)

I think his affect the backup of the server and what should I do with this?

It seems that these three questions are unrelated.? Please understand that our newsgroup is an issue based service, meaning we usually respond to one question/issue per post.? This will lessen the confusion for both of us, as well as ensure that our results are accurate and not a result of a test for a different question.? Regarding the additional question(s), please open a new post so that the dedicated MS engineer can help you on it in a more efficient manner.

According to your description, I understand that you received "DCOM, 10016" events on the server. This problem may occur if either of the following conditions is true:

1. A program with the class ID (CLSID) that appears in the message tries to start the COM component by using the DCOM infrastructure. However, the user does not have the required permissions to start the COM component.
2. The Network Service account does not have the correct permissions.

Searching the CLSID, we could know that {BA126AD1-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E} stand for Network Connection Manager Class.

I suggest that we do the following:

1. Click Start -> Run, type DCOMCNFG and click OK.
2. Under Component Services -> My Computer -> Dcom Config -> Netman. Right click it and select properties, go to the Security tab.
3. In Launch and Activation Permissions box click Edit.
4. Add Network Service with Local Launch and Local Activation permissions.
5. Restart the Server and check if the issue is fixed.
