domain name and website same

I have a windows 2003 domain with a domain name "abcd.com". My company
website is "www.abcd.com". When I type www.abcd.com is works fine but when I
type http://abcd.com website doesn't come up. I want to open my company
website by simply typing http://abcd.com

you have to update the host headers value
IIS Manager - > Web Sites (right click a site, go to properties).
On the "web site" tab, click on "advanced" you should have 2 values
add a host header. One for www.abcd.com and one for "abc.com"
