I am using Vista Business Trad Chinese Edition, with Office 2007 SBE English.
When I use Outlook to read messages in Simplied Chinese, it always displayed
incorrectly. Also when I replied to some messages, there are ?? appears in my
message.

I tried various settings in both Vista and Office 2007, but the problem
still exists.

However, when using Windows Mail (as part of Vista), there is no problem,
and all Trad and Simplied Chinese characters display correctly.

Thank you and I appreciate for you assistance!

Hello Billy:

It's so weird, please look at the following link first.
[Unicode support for multilanguage data in Outlook]
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101659691033.aspx?pid=CH101726981033

I think you'd better turn to microsoft.public.officeupdate for further help.
Thank you for your understanding.

I just ran into the same issue between Outlook 2007 and my Pop3 Gmail
account. All of the emails I wrote in Gmail and POP3ed into Outlook were
showing ? for Chinese characters. Other people's email are fine. The
solution is to go to Gmail settings and choose "Unicode" encoding for
outgoing messages.

I think it matters that the sender of the email must choose Unicode encoding
for outgoing messages. So you might want to check and make sure people who
send you emails are doing that, in additional to your doing so yourself.

Has this been resolved? My colleague in the office faced the same "??"
problem when transfering data between 2 PCs using different versions of MS
Outlook.
