Dear customer:

Recall requires you to use a Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or later e-mail account. The recipient of the mail you want to recall must also be using an Exchange server e-mail account. For example, you cannot recall a message sent to someone's personal Internet service provider (ISP) (ISP: A business that provides access to the Internet for such things as electronic mail, chat rooms, or use of the World Wide Web. Some ISPs are multinational, offering access in many locations, while others are limited to a specific region.) POP3 e-mail account.

For more information about how message recall works, please refer to the following documents:

Hope this helps, please feel free to let me know in case you have any query.

Dear Sir,

I have read article and the following is my configuration details which are
all fulfilled the requirement of recall function:

1. One exchange 2003 server with SP2.
2. all two users are using exchange service and outlook 2003 with SP2 (user
1 and user 2)
3. User 1 login outlook and send a mail to user 2, then recall the message.
4. User 2 login outlook and received two emails, one is from User 1 and
still can be opened and viewed, another is from system which the content is
"the user 1 would like to recall the message, subject".

Please advice which stpes I miss or misoperate.

thanks,

Wayne

Dear customer:

From your configuration, that is right.

Based on my research, when user 2 received two messages, he must first open the message which the content is
"the user 1 would like to recall the message, subject", thus we can recall the message success. If he open the normal message that was send from user 1, the recall will fail.

Hope this helps. If anything is unclear, please feel free to ask me.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

We have the same issue in our company. We did some tests for email message
recall feature and the report always came "Failure" even when you do not open
the email. Please advise.

Thanks, Ahmad

Your reply is interesting, but that is not how it works in real-life. I just
send an email to a bunch of collegues, but attached the wrong file. Trying to
recall I got the same message (failed). Of course, when the addressees open
their mail the start reading from the oldest (normally), and reading a
recall-message they will get curious and open the mail they should not. There
should be a way to have the function do what it promises: recall ...
