Joe,

HIS does not automatically synchronize host (Mainframe and/or AS/400)
passwords.

In HIS 2000, our Security Integration (Host Security) could be used to do
one-way (Windows -> AS/400 or IBM Mainframes) password synchronization
without the need for ny host footprint. In HIS 2004 and HIS 2006, we include
Enterprise Single Sign-On (ENTSSO) that allows for single sign-on (SSO) and
password synchronization. However, password synchronization requires a
"Password Synchronization Adapter" (software) to faciliate the
synchronization. The Password Sync Adapter would have a Windows component
and a IBM Mainframe or AS/400 component. Currently, there are no 3rd party
Password Sync Adapters available to do this. Microsoft does not offer one.
ISVs and/or customers are able to write their own using the ENTSSO SDK, but
I'm not sure if that is something you'd want to attack.

Hi Stephen, Thanks for the reply. I just want to make sure I understand
your answer. If we only need a one way sync (Windows => AS/400) is the
adapter still required?
Joe.

Yes. The adapter is still required.
