Hi.

Is there a way to change the default html document created by the HTML Help
Compiler?

Thanks.

Hi Kenny,

start the HTMLHelp Workshop with your project. Choose the tab "Project" and
the first Icon "Options". There you will find a dropdown-box "Default file"
Change this to your file, but the best filename for all projects is
welcome.htm if you will set a splash-screen etc.
I'm beginning a translation at http://home.t-online.de/home/monika.ulli .
May be it's interresting for you.
Greatings from Hannover CeBIT is coming soon.

Hi,

I want to modify the document used as a template when creating new HTML
topics in HTMLHelp. I want to include some tags to this template.

Thanks.

I don't think so. But you can save frequently-used code blocks for reuse in
HTML Help Workshop. To do this:

1) Enter the tags and text that you want to reuse, and then copy them to the
Clipboard.

2) On the Tags menu in HTML Help Workshop, point to Insert Text Block, and
then click an Empty command.

3) Click Yes.

4) In the Name of Text Block field, type a name for the text block.

5) In the Text Block field, paste the code that you previously copied to the
Clipboard.

You could use this technique to create and store a replacement for HHW's
topic template. Then, when you create a new HTML file, you'd just select the
contents of the file (press CTRL+A) and overwrite them with your template
(on the Tags menu, point to Insert Text Block and select the appropriate
command).

Hi,
I'm starting a project of writing the help files for our DB Program and The
I plan on using Word 2000 along with Microsofts 'Help Workshop'

I have look everywhere in Word on how to enter hotspots, and all of the
other tags needed to get started. Could anyone suggest what I should use
for an editor or what ever....

Thanks
