A few conflicts between IE5.5 and HTMLHelp?

I downloaded IE5.5 over the weekend and have encountered the following
oddities when viewing web-based HTMLHelp applications (i.e., applications
that use the Active-X HTMLHelp control (HHCtrl.ocx).

1. When an *.hhc file tagets a page and a bookmark (i.e., the "Local" PARAM
takes the form "page.html#bookmark") clicking on the Table of Contents entry
navigates the targeted frame to the correct page, but ignores the bookmark.
This is a problem only in uncompiled, web-based applications. In a compiled
CHM file the TOC navigates to the full URL, both page and bookmark.

2. The Java Applet will not work when hosted in a navigation frame. The HTML
that successfully loads the applet in IE5.0x loads the applet in IE5.5 but
does not display the *.hhc file.

Has anyone else encountered these or similar problems?

It is possible that the problem is the failure of the IE5.5 setup program to
update the HTMLHelp components. After I install the update to HH 1.32, I'll
post a followup that reports whether any of these problems have gone away.

Not quite. I have noticed that in CHM files bookmarks should be inserted as one
word, for example "this_is_a_bookmark", not "this is a bookmark".

I think Bookmarks is a known bug with IE5.5.

You submit a HH bug directly to the HH developers via:
